Thanks to efforts by lots of people two new courts were installed, allowing WHS to host tennis for the 1st time at McKnight Park. The Chargers JV squad was joined by Cair Paravel, Chapman & Perry-Lecompton.
Due to the heat and concerns for students' health, today's practices are being modified and coaches will be monitoring the athletes closely.

Charger Family, we have some first responders at WJHS due to a teacher taking a fall. All is okay and we are looking after our staff member.
Welcome back, Charger Nation! We're excited to kick off the new school year tomorrow! As a reminder, it will be an early dismissal at 1 PM. Don't miss the WJHS and WHS Open House from 6-7 PM tonight. It's a great chance to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and get ready for a fantastic year ahead. Let's make this school year our best one yet!
Practice bus this morning is running about 20 minutes behind. It is en route now to Maple Hill and should be there about 7:35.
Reminder: Wabaunsee High School will be having a “Freshman & New Student Night” on Monday, August 19th from 6:00pm - 7:00pm! This will be an informal hour where new students and freshmen, along with their families, can come by the high school to have any last minute questions answered, walk your new class schedule, and check out where you can find your lockers! Doors will open at 6:00pm but you are welcome to come anytime between 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Please be advised that your teachers may not be present this night, and this is simply an opportunity to become more familiar with the building before school starts. See you then!
Sports Practice Bus Schedule for Tomorrow:
The practice bus tomorrow morning will start in Maple Hill at 7:15 am and go through the towns to Alma. It will then leave Alma around 7:40 – 7:45 am to take JH football players to Paxico. The after practice return bus will leave from Paxico at 9:45 am going through McFarland to Alma. Then it will leave Alma at 10:00 and go through towns to Maple Hill.
