Good afternoon, Charger Family,
At USD 329, student safety remains our highest priority. Last evening, a concerning message sent to a student at WJHS was brought to our attention. We responded immediately, contacting law enforcement and coordinating closely with our School Resource Officer to assess any potential threat thoroughly.
After careful investigation, it was determined that no active threat exists. We will continue prioritizing the safety and well-being of all students and staff. Thank you for your support and trust as we work together to maintain a secure school environment for our community.

WHS students helped serve their community today (literally) at the Alma Community Open Door. Both the community members and the high school students enjoy this monthly opportunity.

As part of our ongoing strategic planning, we recently held community listening sessions in partnership with the Kansas School Boards Resource Center (KSBRC). These sessions provided valuable insights into our district’s core values, student readiness goals, and college and career preparation priorities.
To ensure everyone has a chance to participate, we invite those who couldn’t attend in person to share their feedback through the link below. Your input is essential in helping shape our district’s future and identifying the goals that will best support our students.
Please take a few moments to offer your thoughts, ideas, and priorities. Thank you for helping us create a vibrant, student-centered plan for success.

WHS students and families, the FAFSA presentation will be at 6:00pm in the WHS Commons. This event was previously scheduled to be in the WHS Library but has been moved to the Commons to accommodate another event happening in the library. This presentation will be geared primarily toward seniors and the families of senior students, but all high school students/families are welcome. We hope to see you there!
Maple Hill Trunk or Treat Event October 27th, flier attached.
I’ve had some community members ask questions about the Listening Sessions. Here’s what you can expect:
Community Values: What are the top three values that should guide the future of our schools?
Student Readiness: What should students be able to know & do at each stage—from elementary to high school?
Career & College Prep: What key skills should our students have by graduation, and what should we focus on in the next five years?
There’s no need to worry about complicated discussions or fancy terms—we’re looking for your genuine, honest input. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, community member, or simply care about our schools, your voice is important. We look forward to seeing you there!
Charger Nation!
We invite you to attend one of our two remaining Listening Sessions as part of our district’s Strategic Planning for the future. Tonight’s session will be held at the Maple Hill Senior Center starting at 7 PM, and our final in-person session will take place this Thursday at 7 PM in the WHS library.
You don’t need to live in the immediate area to attend—sessions were scheduled across the district for your convenience, so you can choose one that best fits your schedule and location. Everyone is welcome, and we look forward to seeing you there!
