Wabaunsee USD 329 is excited to officially launch our Livestock Donation Program!
The concept is simple—and it has the potential to be a true win-win for our ranchers, our schools, and our community.
Area producers can donate eligible livestock directly to USD 329. Depending on the animal and the producer’s individual tax situation, that donation may provide a meaningful federal tax benefit. Meanwhile, USD 329 coordinates inspected processing and brings that locally produced beef back into our school kitchens.
That means a potential tax benefit for the rancher, quality local beef for Charger students at a reasonable cost, and more of our food-service dollars staying right here in our local economy.
We have also developed rancher-focused guides to help producers understand the program and have an informed conversation with their own tax professional.
Local cattle. Inspected processing. Local students.
If you are a producer who may be interested, please contact Dr. Troy Pitsch, Superintendent of Wabaunsee USD 329, directly at tpitsch@usd329.org or 785-765-3394. I’d be glad to visit with you about how the program works.
That’s the Charger Nation!

⚠️ **GAME TIME CHANGES — 7:30 PM STARTS**
Due to the continued heat and the potential risk to our student-athletes, officials, coaches, families, and fans, we are moving the start times for both of our upcoming football contests.
**WJHS vs. Council Grove — Tonight, September 3 — 7:30 PM**
**WHS Varsity — Friday, September 4 — 7:30 PM**
These are not decisions we make lightly, but when conditions raise concerns about the health and safety of our kids and everyone involved in putting on these events, we will always err on the side of protecting people. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding. Please help us spread the word about the updated start times.
**Take care of our kids. Take care of each other. Go Chargers!**

A quick reminder to our families: USD 329 uses Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) readings to monitor heat conditions and guide decisions regarding practices and student activities. Our coaches and staff are prepared to modify practice times, intensity, equipment, hydration breaks, or locations—and postpone activities when conditions require it. The health and safety of our students will remain our first priority.
Charger Strong!
