2022 Wabaunsee Homecoming Details
Wabaunsee High School’s Homecoming week will kick off on Labor Day - Monday, September 5th with window painting downtown from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. The school week will start off with a spirit day each day with Battle of the Decades as the theme. Spirit days planned are Tuesday - Touring the 50s (Dress as a tourist), Wednesday - Wig out in the 70s (Wear your best wig or bring your craziest hair style), Thursday - 60s Paradise (Wear your best Hawaiian gear), and Friday - 80s Rockin’ Colors (Freshmen: White, Sophomores: Black, Juniors: Red, Seniors: Blue).
The Junior High has cross country at Wamego and volleyball at Junction City on Tuesday.
Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm a parade will be held and start on 3rd street. The parade will end at the football field. If others would like to have a float in the parade contact the school or booster club (parade line up is at 6:00 pm on 3rd street). Following the parade, team introductions will be announced (High school and junior high volleyball, football, cross country, tennis, rec volleyball, flag football, Stallions football, and rec soccer). Thursday the Junior High football and volleyball teams play at home against Rossville. At dusk on Thursday evening, Booster Club will sponsor a Bonfire (location to be determined).
On Friday, a community and district pep rally will be held at the high school from 1:30-2:30 pm. Homecoming King and Queen crowning will be at 6:20 pm. The Homecoming game will kick off at 7:00 pm against Northern Heights.
High School cross country will run at Wamego on Saturday, along with high school volleyball at Lyndon. A dance will be sponsored by Student Council on Saturday from 8:00-10:00 pm with $2 admission for high school students.

WEDNESDAY
8:15 - 11:50 am - Class meetings followed by High School float decorating
12:20 - 3:30 pm - Classes as normal
6:00 pm - Parade line up at 3rd street
6:30 pm - Parade to start on 3rd street and go to the football field

THURSDAY

FRIDAY
8:00 - 8:30 am - Candidate Breakfast 8:10 - 11:50 am - Class as normal
11:50 - 12:30 pm - Student council sponsored BBQ for 9-12 students and staff. (hamburger or hot dog, beans, cookie, chips, water)
1:00 pm - Band and Cheer will be dismissed for the pep rally. All other students will attend 5th hour.
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm - district / Community pep rally (high school gym)
2:30 pm - Candidate practice at the field (cheer, candidates, designated student council)
2:30 - end of day - Class as normal
6:20 pm - Crowning at the football field
7:00 pm - The Chargers kick off the football game
SATURDAY
Dance - 8:00 - 10:00 pm High School Commons for high school students. Admission is $2 a person.
