FCCLA Members Attend Take Aim Conference
Twelve Wabaunsee FCCLA members, along with Diane Breiner and Peggy Adams, attended the State FCCLA Take Aim Conference on August 29 & 30, 2021 in Manhattan, KS. Kaelyn Conrad – Kansas FCCLA State Officer, Kara Hafenstine, Sydney Holthaus and Jacob Meseke – Kansas Peer Education Members, and Abby Wallin, District D FCCLA President were very involved in planning and making sure the Conference ran smoothly for the 100 Advisors and 450 students in attendance.
Wabaunsee FCCLA was called upon to be a big part of the Take Aim Conference. Kaelyn Conrad presented eighteen Round Table Presentations on the topic of Social Media to the 450 FCCLA members from across Kansas in attendance. Sydney Holthaus and Jacob Meseke also were involved in the Round Table presentations and their topic was promoting FCCLA membership. Kara Hafenstine, Annie Wright, Olivia Mayer and Madyson Havenstein were a part of the Knowledge Bowl presentations for both students and advisors. Kara Hafenstine and Sydney Holthaus presented their STAR Event to the 100+ advisors in attendance and Taryn Maike, Kaci Meseke and Karli Meseke presented their STAR Event to the 450+ students in attendance. Abbie Wallin, as one of the District FCCLA presidents, served as one of the door monitors for the Round Robin presentations and Paxton Meyer also attended from our chapter.
The Take Aim Conference is the first Kansas activity at the beginning of the school year. Chapters take their officers to receive updates about what is happening in Kansas FCCLA for the 2021-2022 school year and to meet and work with other FCCLA members from across Kansas. One of the highlights of the conference was a presentation from Miss Kansas about Leadership. The Wabaunsee Chapter members who attended represented our school and community very positively and we all look forward to a great FCCLA year.
