This is from the Wabaunsee County Emergency Management & Wabaunsee County Health Department – Gov's 1.5 Phase in - doesn't change much for us. For clarification: gyms being open – only applies to private fitness centers/gyms (no group activities)-schools still under Gov's executive order.
Further Wabaunsee County Health Department and the USD 329 BOE have adopted our school reopening plan as follows:
Starting Monday, June 29th we will start the "reopening of our schools" for summer activities following KSHSAA guidelines. However:
1. Our facilities-gyms/weight rooms will not be open to any "outside" groups or individuals.
2. As a school we won’t participate in any outside competitions or off-site camps sponsored or sanctioned by KSHSAA (no summer leagues, no 7 on 7 leagues, no cheer, no STUCO, no KAYS). Unless these camps are virtual.
3. Transportation for our kids will be provided as previously done -following 6 ft. social distancing.
4. We will continue to follow KSHSAA eligibility rules.
Sorry, I understand everyone's anxious to get working out again! Hopefully, things will change quickly and everyone can continue getting outside!
